This diary won't be very long, because there's not much I can say really. The Reserve Officers Association is hosting an "educational" cruise from Boston to Nova Scotia this August. What will be some of the important issues being addressed? Read on.
According to the digital brochure http://www.facebook.com/... the cruise will cover such fascinating topics as:
The future of the force: leading Generals give their perspectives on operational budget constraints.
Theaters of engagement: the world of defense region by region, including Syria, North Korea, Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Defense at home: Operations on the southern border and homeland security.
Fueling Defense: energy's real impact on national security.
On the ground in Iran? -Separating fact from fiction to find the real options.
Of course it won't all be tedious lectures. There'll be a BBQ, and fun games like "firing simulator" and "flight simulator", along with "virtual battlefield staff rides" where you can test your mettle in historical engagements. To wind down, there will be a selection of favorite war films, with expert commentary.
Sound fun? You can facebook them at: http://www.facebook.com/...
If you're not sure if you'd blend-in on this Military Industrial Complex 'Love Boat', here's a list of people the Reserve Officers Association has seen fit to honor with their "Minuteman of the Year" award since 9/11; an award given to “The citizen who has contributed most to National Security during these times”:
