I will miss him, the same way I miss the free  "USA Today" while on the road. I have never bought one, and yet that impersonation of a newspaper beat having to talk to strangers over brunch at the Super 8.  And his guy, this farce of a politician was a lot like one of those know it all, overly-friendly, overly-loud, patently false, and not funny bores who insisted on sitting next to you over a sticky bun. I always had the feeling, when trapped into a conversation over the toaster oven, that he was distracting me while his partner stole my sticky bun.  And that is the way I feel about this politician. Except I never found him entertaining enough to be distracting. As a distraction he was pretty bad at his job. And I must say, Newt Gingrich did more to lower my respect for the voters of Georgia than anything since Andersonville Prison. And now he's gone and in a sick sort of way, I miss him, the way after I bite myself while chewing gum, I come to miss the tiny mouth sore I've been sucking on. One day its just gone, and I don't miss it enough to bite myself again, but I sort of miss it. And I sort of miss Newt.

What next career move do you foresee for Newt Gingrich?

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
