People are fickle, imperfect, strong & weak, among many other traits. We eat, sleep, live, work, play, suffer and battle every single day. Succinctly - we are human. In being human, all our live's are filled with moments. Some precious. Some sad. Some wasted and some great. The Occupy movement is a great thing and I am proud to consider myself and Occupier.
Welcome to Occupying with Laser! ☺
What you are going to find her is a place for all. A realm where you can speak your mind - as long as you are C I V I L. This is a place for the good, the bad, the beautiful, those that have not realized how beautiful they are and - most importantly - the down trodden, abused and rejected. For I am the one of you all and welcome all of you. There are none to be shun here, even Mr. B and his ilk who despise and loathe me. For the only way that we can make a change - is thru examples and willingness to do so.
Thus far I've been to 17 Occupy camps since October 2011.
At OccupyLA (Los Angeles) - we had wonderful experiences. As you can see by the picture I am big, ugly and can't marker draw too. Be that as it may, I made many friends - including an attorney who quit his elected position and joined us (see Pete's website www.OccupyTheRoseParade.org ). Also a Cornell student took a semester off to teach us daily history classes on the Constitution. Including the fact that our American Revolutionary War win did not "immediately" lead to the frame / form of the Constitution fo the United States. I learned that history is pop culture (it was Israel Bissell - not Paul Revere who did the great ride) and that
"Change takes time".
WELCOME to ALL
A wonderful FaceBook friend of mine is Ashley. Every time I get solemn, I can go say hi to her and get a smile, open arms and a warmth upon my soul that no evil can tear asunder. Even the unlikeable Laser Haas - finds friends here and there.
While OccupyWS has been at it for several months, I've been at the learning my new career for several years. Occupying has been my life - it just most recently has become defined.
As a jew I moved into a Lebanese house of one who hates just about everybody. As a by product, after his jewish wifes death - his jewish son's stole his wife's estate - because he played games to keep assets hidden from his previous marriages.
Yes, Mr. "x" is a bad guy of bad moral fiber who raised bad sons. But, the greater evil was two yiddish boys who took $1.5 million from their dad who worked 80 hours a week - every chance he had - providing them the very home for 30 years (since their birth) - they sought to steal. My yiddish friends said he deserved it. Evil is not a justification for evil. If so, we have the right to shot GZ and I have the right to shoot those corrupting our federal courts.
What I did was, moved in, slept on his floor and gave him 2000 hours of research on probate issues (such as we learned in California - the surviving spouse has 60 days to get their affairs in order - the kids thru their dad out of his own has right after they buried their mom). It was not a pleasant time for me. He was a pig, inconsiderate and owes me $10,000 I will never see - for helping him.
However, what did transpire, is the fact that he was evicted when I moved in and our combined efforts aggravated his sons for over a year. They eventually won their stolen house - because their dad tells so many lies - he can't remember them all. Even though we were able to get permanent restraining orders for physical abuse, financial abuse and mental abuse - the sons never confessed to their acts of perjury (obvious) - but their father did.
NOTE: All are welcome here - especially the disheartened and down trodden! Thus, I say "Enter all ye who are weary and heavy ladden".
What I am trying to say is 3 things. You may not like everyone you are fighting for or with. You may be well aware that you are going to lose in the end. Or that no matter which side wins - even your own - you have to face the fact you helped an asshole. Be that as it may - if we stand still and let evil transpire - we are giving our blessing to that evil. == This is inexplicable, intolerable and deterimental to us All.
For the case above, I can give you dozens of others that I worked on (and am working on) - that have more nobility around. Like the 87 year old jewish woman Adriana - who is real mean - because the world has been mean to her. She survived a German invasion of her home town, by laying with her son, down in the bulk of dead bodies.
Now, her step-son too, felt she did not deserve the probate estate of her husband. So he rolled her dying husband into Bank of America and signed his mother off the account. The BofA person has since quit.
She lost her Social Security of decades as he gambled it away with lose living. She had cancer 4 times now and is a fighter heart warming. Though I was homeless, I did what I could to help her. Taking her to shavitz, Hi Holidays with borrowed vehicles and got her into a good home - when every single "system" just wanted her to pass away.
You are Noble and Can do Noble Deeds
I invite you to come here and find a quest, goal, effort of goodness. Seek that which is good within you and those around you. There are enough people in this world happy to see evil and be a mob upon the down trodden.
My mother was a welfare mom with 5 kids who also was a bar maid to make ends meet. Not only was I on the wrong side of the tracks because of that (and the rough side of jokes too).
She was a beautiful women, dating Frank's friends and even Robert Goulet. She married a 17 year old when I was 12 and a 19 year old when I was 17 (thus the jokes of me being the son of my brother were vast in schools). As we moved from town to town, 20 times in my 1st 10 years, as well as State to State - I was ALWAYS on the bottom of the social ladder.
I was picked on, sexually abused, pee'd on, beat on and always upon the bottom of the ladder. But, we became wonderful mother and son, before she passed away. When she awoke from her cancer coma - the very 1st thing she did when she could not even speak - was reach her hand out to my physical problem and touch it. Worried I had cancer too - shaking her finger - telling me (silently) not to go through the treatments. Right now, my tears of joy in love are hard to withhold.
If, but for no other reason, you can come here and know there is someone that does not consider himself above you. The said I was dumb, retarted in school - if my teachers could see me now - they would be ashamed. We lose so much goodness, to bias, unnecessary disdain of others.
It is a Noble quest to OCCUPY. For we are fighting tyranny, cronyism and corruption. Only those who delight in evil - desire that such evil traits/ characters succeed. Anyone who desires to fight such - is good in my book. I may not agree with you often. For I am outspoken. But I will NEVER reject you - unless you are doing evil. I believe in the goodness of men & women - even my EX.
So come here and see. If you feel comfort with doing so - you may also speak or say - what is on your mind. But you MUST be civil. I almost never give out donuts and expect that to be the norm here TOO. Our enemies are enough already - that we do not have to become enemies of each other. Treat each other as newbies who have NO idea what they are doing and help them see the light. Be fair and kind to your fellow man and women - knowing you can come here and expect them to be fair and kind to you. I am going to journey around this country to Occupy camps and you are invited to follow along. We can do great things - TOGETHER.
If you do not write like a pro - that is okay. As you may have noticed - neither do I. Do you need techy help. We will try to learn together. Are you wishing, planning - hoping to Occupy. Then please, by all means, Let US KNOW. Together we can make a differnce. This Diary from Saturday April 28, 2012 - by a new person I intend to follow much (fellow kossack "Lenny Flank"). Lenny has great ideas on how to take Occupy to the next level and won me over with this Diary "Occupy 2.0: a proposed new strategy". It is a wonderful excerise in verbal literacy on what Occupy needs to do to thrive and make a better impact. I suggest a read - it is not that long - but absolutely awesome.
Finally, Occupy May Day is upon us. It is a "mayday" distress call to Unite, show we are still here, still strong and to get prepared for battling the 1%'r Mitt the pitts Too. I say Welcome 1 more time and I leave you with this YouTube video by ClassWarFilms as placed upon Pete's "Occupy The Rose Parade" website. The ending still makes my heart warm and my tears well up with passion each time I view the Marine's remarks on honorable fights.
