Quantum theory holds that electrons can change position in no time, moving a distinct quantity of distance rather than incrementally traversing the space between starting and ending points. There is also the uncertainty principle: the more we know about a particle's position, the less we know about its direction. You can guess where this is going. Mitt Romney apparently attempting to institute a Unified Quantum-Public Relations Field Theory.
He wants to have both opposed and authored the auto bailout. He wants to have come out both against teh gays and also be for adoption by gay couples. And he wants to be able to say he both doesn't remember hacking off a kid's hair against his will and that he does however totally remember that he didn't do it because people presumed the kid to be gay.
One more hackneyed misappropriation from physics: the observer effect. This effect describes that observing a particle changes it. This also applies to Romney. If integrity is, as the cliche goes, what we do when no one is looking, then quantum flip flopping is what Romney does when someone shines a light on his statements or behavior.
