Two-term Republican Congressman Mike Coffman (Colorado District 6) is drawing a lot of heat today with a Denver Post article about his downright crazy birther rant at a fundraiser.

At a fundraiser in Elbert County earlier this month, Coffman was recorded by a supporter as he spoke about Obama's American citizenship.

"I don't know whether Barack Obama was born in the United States of America. I don't know that," said Coffman at the May 12 fundraiser. "But I do know this, that in his heart, he's not an American. He's just not an American."

Call him Congressman Clueless.
He claims to be clueless on whether Obama was born in the USA and I take him at his word.
What the hell is this clown doing in Congress?

Now THIS guy is out to lunch. Quite the jackass.
He has since apologized and said he misspoke. MISSPOKE?
Does he not have control over what comes out of his dumbass lips?
This guy is just ridiculous.
Fortunately Colorado's 6th Congressional District is more competitive since redistricting. Democrat Mike Mikloski is hammering Coffman for saying such stupid shit.

Miklosi said that since Wednesday night, when the news broke, the phones at his campaign's office have been ringing endlessly.

"Support for my candidacy is really being shown," Miklosi said. "Even Republicans are calling and saying they're embarrassed by the statements."

It is frankly mind-boggling that Congressman Clueless can be so stupid.
Perhaps he's just pandering to the Conspiracy Theory Nutjob base of the GOP, but that would be just as bad.

Well it's time to get Congressman "Scooby" Clueless out of Congress so he can hop in his Mystery Machine and get on the case and find a clue about the President's citizenship.
Holy shit these guys are nuts!

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
