The Interfaith Service at Netroots Nation welcomes those of all faiths and no faith. This year, the theme is Justice. What does your faith or belief system teach about justice? How does it inform your own life, your politics, and your choice of what causes to work for?
Last year the theme was faith and activism. Loggersbrat and I collected comments from many Kossacks of many different beliefs including but not limited to Buddhism, Judaism, several forms of Christianity, Native American ritual, Wicca. It became a moving service. We take the contributions, either whole or excerpted, and organize them to form a service. We need you for inspiration.
So let's get started. Loggersbrat came up with this idea with this quote: Justice is the Public Face of Love. And for me, Judaism's call to pursue justice is part of my life and my activism and goes so deep that I seldom think about it.
So think of this election year. How does your faith or other belief system see the idea of justice, and how does this play out in your life? In the life of your house of worship if you have one? Is there a difference between justice and morality?
These questions are just a starting place. We need as many contributions as we can get.
