1430 - Joan of Arc is captured by Burgundians while leading her army to war.
1934 – American bank robbers Bonnie and Clyde are ambushed by police and killed in Black Lake, Louisiana.
COINCIDENCE? I think NOT!
If the administration wants cooperation, it will have to begin to move in our direction.
(Mitch McCONnell defining the "Art of Compromise" from a GOP perspective.)
We're living under the Obama economy. Any CEO in America with a record like this after three years on the job would be graciously shown the door. This president blames the managers instead. He blames the folks on the shop floor. He blames the weather.
(Mitch McCONnell not discussing the $3 billion dollar JP Morgan loss.)

I don't get it. I really don't.
Under the dripping bag of Lipton tea branches and sweepings, they demand a small government, unless it involves women's reproductive rights. Then, they want to interfere and virtually claim ownership over American vaginas.
Bill Donahue, one of my heroes, has pushed for a lawsuit against the Obama Administration, claiming that setting insurance requirements for insurers somehow attacks a person's right to worship. That logic is about as twisted and insane as belief in a three part god, who sent his son (Who's your heavenly mommy, anyway, jesus?) to be vaginally born, then nailed to a plank, but only after he effectively spit in the face of his earth mommy.
Notre Dame, a school connected to a rabid football team, has also joined in the litigation.

2. The Bain of his existence
We know what Willard was, and is. Not a Venture Capitalist, but a Vulture Kapitalist. His company would pick a juicy target, exchange value for debt, take that "value" as profit, and leave its target to wither and die. Made Willard a very, very, very rich man.
But what of Ford, Harold (Wall is my friend) or Booker, Corey (Where's the fire?) and most of all, Rendell, Ed (Let's push Bush's Social Security plan!)?
Ford's the easiest to dismiss. He's a shallow, smooth, spineless goat who loves to hear himself talk, especially on cable T&V. Never thought as a fount of policy or insight, what makes Harold the happiest is being on his knees making sure that Joe Scarborough has a smile on his face. Like any other T&V Show host, Ford makes sure that he agrees with every outrageous statement Joe may make, while putting the finest and thinnest veneer of "Democrat Party Member" on the surface. The difference between someone like Ben Nelson and Harold Ford is Ben really means being a conservative Democrat. Ford hasn't enough depth to be anything real.
Corey? Seems like a bright, nice, hard working guy. I suspect he got a bum's rap about this. I find it hard to believe that his positions are for sale for such meager sums that he got from Wall. I also find it hard to believe that he is for sale at all, unlike a certain texan governor who scoffed not at the idea of a bribe, but at the low amount. ($5000? That's a joke. Let's talk some real money)
I could be wrong, I hope not.
Ed Rendell represents the epitome of a Clint Eastwood Western. The Good? he did some great things as mayor and governor. Al Gore named him the best in the country. (Then again, Al picked a horrible Veep) The Bad? Ed was on the record for supporting the eventual destruction of Social Security. He even seemed to support Bush's privatization plans, although he later denied doing so. (cameras rarely lie, Ed). The ugly? Trying to protect Bain Capital and Rmoney from the horrible impact they had on stable, profitable businesses. As I said, I don't get it.

3. Jerky Jenky
Freedom From Religion Foundation issued an interesting news bulletin. They notified the IRS of Peoria Catholic Bishop Daniel Jenky's politicizing of his office. Jenky, you may recall, compared Obama with Hitler and Stalin. Unfavorably.
Unfortunately, given the number of catholics in the USSC and the Federal Government at large, including the IRS, I doubt that even a valid complaint like this will ever go anywhere.
Key Factors the IRS uses to determine if advocacy from the pulpit exists:
a. Identifies a candidate for a given office.
b. Expresses approval or disapproval for the candidate's positions and/or actions.
c. Is delivered close to an election.
d. Makes reference to voting or the upcoming election.
e. Addresses an issue distinguishing candidates for a given office.
f. is part of the ongoing communications on the same issue that are independent of any election.
g. Is related to a nonelectoral event ie, a scheduled vote (or signing of legislature) by an officeholder who is also a candidate for office.
Here's a pointless image I drew, which I add here for absolutely no reason.
So, in honor of Joan, here's a quick sketch of another Joan. (Click on the image if you want to see it clearly. Somehow, uploading it makes it blurry)

4. Yahoo!
And to almost finish off, some of the bestest advise ever given on Yahoo!
Yahoo! Answers: How to save your child from atheism
Yahoo! Answers lets readers online ask questions which other readers respond to.
Q. What is the best way to stop your child from becoming an athiest [sic]? I don't want any of my children to be punished by God.
A. David M.:
Do not educate them, or expose them to critical thinking, logic or science. Lie to them constantly about how the world works. Feed them a steady diet of mumbo-jumbo dressed up like real knowledge — the [creationist] jumbo jet in the whirlwind, for example — and pretend that it is deep wisdom.
Make them loathe their own natural bodies and functions. Convince them they are small and weak and worthless and need redemption. Tell them everything enjoyable is grievously wrong to even think about, and that their only fun should be in grovelling to an invisible friend.
Ensure that they resent anyone who is not like them in every way — skin color, nationality, political opinion but especially creed. Make such people out to be evil and vile and give them — impotent minorities all — the fictional power to somehow
oppress and persecute the vast ma
jority who do think like you.
Teach them to laugh at and dismiss out of hand any faith but their own. Early — early mind you — make sure they are taught the difference between superstitious deadly error — that one raving lunatic in the des
ert told the truth about a vicious god
who killed people, and divine eternal
truth — that another raving lunatic in
the desert told the truth about a vi
cious god who killed people.
Instruct them with all severity and import to never question for themselves — to never think for themselves — to never live for themselves but to seek answers only in one just one — particular set of semi-literate Bronze Age folk tales.
Above all, and this cannot be overemphasized, make sure they cannot spell, use correct grammar or understand basic English words.
That should do the trick.

5. A truly criminal organization
Hard to top that, but this does come close:
Thousands of pages from files on nine Roman Catholic priests who settled high-profile clergy abuse lawsuits six years ago are being made public Wednesday, providing a detailed look at sordid accusations as well as instances when priests were allowed to interact with children despite their superiors knowing about the allegations.
Two of the former priests whose histories are detailed in the documents are Gus Krumm and Gary Pacheco, both defrocked Franciscan priests who served at Sts. Simon and Jude Catholic Church in Huntington Beach in separate assignments covering most years from the mid-1970s through the late 1990s. . . .
The documents – upwards of about 10,000 pages – will be available for viewing at bishop-accountability.org.
For those who don't believe that the Catholic church is a criminal organization, intent on covering up crimes of its priests, nuns, and bishops, here's the link to their internal documents which prove this to be the case.
