the President has experience you do NOT have. He has almost four years as President, dealing with multiple messes he inherited from his predecessor:
- the financial crisis
- Iraq
- Afghanistan
- Osama bin Laden
Despite obstructionism from your party, which started the day he was inaugurated, if not before,
- we have seen an increase in private sector employment
- the only reason public sector employment has dropped is because Republican governors and legislators are slashing jobs
- we are almost totally out of Iraq
- we are beginning to wind down in Afghanistan
- and that other guy? Bin Laden? Bin Laden? Who had you been president would still be alive and well in Pakistan because you made clear you would not make pursuing him a priority, you were unwilling to go into Pakistan without their permission and prior notification.
Regardless of how dismissive you may be of Obama's pre-Presidential experience, you have NO foreign policy experience.
But we can make this simple. One job of the President is to be able to communicate. That includes communicating to the American people. That includes communicating with the media.
So how about you demonstrate your competence by going on a live press conference, and answering the questions that are asked, allowing followups, and not just from friendly faces at Fox? If Obama can sit down with Bill O'Reilly, why can't you sit down with Rachel Maddow or Lawrence O'Donnell?
You have learned how to repeat your talking points. That probably means you can answer mulltiple choice questions, when you have the questions and the answers ahead of time. But can you answer a question you do not expect, or do you have to talk to your "advisers" to determine what you think, like whether you would have supported the Lily Ledbetter Act?
Come on, Mitt. Show us you are ready for the big time, the major leagues. How about a real press conference? One with no rules to protect you?
What are you afraid of?
