The Hypocrisy It Burns: Link
A former Nevada state Senator who ran on a Christian family values platform has posed in a bikini as a write-in candidate for the men's magazine Maxim's "Hot 100" contest.
Elizabeth Halseth, at age 27, became the youngest state legislator in the Nevada Senate during the 2010 elections. She ran on a "Family Values" platform and her squeaky-clean image. Part of the campaign included a mailer with a photograph of her Democratic opponent Benny Yerushalmi along with his wife, who was wearing what could be termed a revealing dress. The photo was captioned "Not Our Values".
Things have taken a bit of a turn since the 2010 election with a divorce after an Oct 2011 domestic dispute which resulted in the arrest of her then husband on charges of open and gross lewdness. She then blew off attending the Nevada legislature for several months before resigning in February of 2012 citing the ever popular 'Duties as a Mother' and looking for a new job.
Gene Newman, digital editorial director at Maxim, said Halseth submitted photos to the magazine in March, and agreed to be included in the contest. Halseth could not be reached to comment.
