I can't stress enough the importance of the Wisconsin election on June 5. I live in Michigan and we have Snyder which is bad enough; but if Walker wins in Wisconsin, all the Republican governors and legislators in the states they control will be emboldened. If you think it's bad now; just wait.
In addition, this election is so important to what happens in November. Which ever side wins in Wisconsin will have their foot on the throat of the other party and will have huge momentum going into November. What happens in Wisconsin will help shape what happens in the Presidential race, the Senate races, the House races and the races for governor and state legislatures.
If Walker wins, we can have all the protests we want; but they won't do any good. We are stuck with him. If the Republicans win the White House, the Senate, hold the House and expand their grip on state governments we can protest all we want; but it won't mean anything because we will be stuck with them. They can stack the Supreme Court for the next 30 years.
We have a chance right now to make a difference. By stopping Walker, we increase our chances in all elections this fall. We can control the agenda. I am heading over to Wisconsin this weekend to do what I can.
If everyone could do a little...contribute a few dollars, make phone calls ( you can do it from any place in the country through Democracy for America and other organizations,) it will make a difference. The polls are so close right now. Right now we have a chance to make that difference. In two weeks we won't. Let's not have to look back in two weeks and say I wish I had.
