In a deep-blue Congressional district in Texas, Democratic challenger Beto O'Rourke knocked off longtime incumbent Silvio Reyes in the primary, without (barely) a runoff.
Kossacks more knowledgeable than me have posted that the district is deep blue, so the Dem primary should decide the race.
Features of the race that were notable enough to draw my attention all the way from Georgia:
1. O'Rourke supports marijuana legalization.
2. O'Rourke supports marriage equality.
3. O'Rourke was backed by the Campaign for Primary Accountability, a somewhat controversial and somewhat puzzling super PAC. It claims to be "trans-partisan," targeting incumbents of both parties that are...ummm...too incumbenty, or something. Some links on the CPA:

There's much more about CPA on Google.
The most informed-sounding opinion I found in a few minutes with Google attributes Reyes's loss to his staff having a long history of pissing off a lot of people by throwing Reyes's clout around, perhaps without Reyes's personal knowledge: http://refusethejuice.typepad.com/...
I'd like to think marriage equality and marijuana reform were more important than a lot of dollars and inside baseball, but I honestly have no idea. Perhaps some commenters will?
