Hey there FOKRs! Well, this diary is the first one post the heart breaking gobsmacking recall result in WI last week. I just don't get it...I really really REALLY just do..not..get it. I guess I'll just have to pin my hopes on an orange jumpsuit & a perp walk for the "good" Governator Scotty because of incriminating results from the "John Doe" investigation.

Let's dive into a little "this day in history." On this date in 1509, England's King Henry VIII married Catherine of Aragon. And, this ditty was "their" song. ;D

On this date in 2001, Timothy McVeigh was executed by injection for the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing that killed 168 people. And, just where did Mr. Timmy die? Well, in my fair state!

Finally, wish a happy happy healthy 79th birthday to Gene Wilder! :D

It's SPARK time! :D I guess cops will have to now come up with a Clothed While Intoxicated charge. This place gives diploma mills a bad name. Finally, I hereby nominate Brit PM David Cameron for Father of the Year!

On with The Rachel Maddow Show...

Ezra Klein's pinch - hitting for Rachel tonight - thanks!

"This Time, It's Personnel" - I think I know what the lines in Ezra's graph means, and, I was wrong. Oh well... ;D Government jobs in the past saved this nation's economy in the past. Now? Well, not so much...President Obama HAS NOT increased "the size of government." He has cut government jobs - unlike his 3 GOBP predecessors in the Oval Office. I finally heard the POTUS' little "private companies are doing fine" shtick from him. Well, hell, compared to government jobs & public workers, private companies ARE doing fine - not great but better than the public sector. And, it's the decline in the public sector employment that's keeping our economy from improving like it can. And, there's Mittens little "WI lesson" $hit. He is such an incredible $hit. Even Dick Nixon & Saint Ronnie Reagan saw the importance of the public sector in our national economy! Ezra doesn't think Mittens will slash government spending even if (heaven forbid) he wins in November; he used Mittens words to prove his point. Well, Mittens could change his mind on that score; Mittens ain't exactly known for consistency! Here's Lamb Chop! :D Are the GOBP deliberately tanking the economy? We're still asking that question?! SPARK YES, THE GOBP IS DELIBERATELY TANKING THE ECONOMY! Sorry for the all caps, but some folks are damn dim. Will both President Obama AND Congress suffer in November for this economy, or will just the POTUS, or will just the Congress? "What is in the heart of Mitt Romney?" Lamb Chop asked. A coward that blows whichever way the wind blows is in the heart of Mittens. Dysfunction in Congress is now viewed as normal; hell, I've viewed that as "normal" for a long damn time.

"From Chad to Worse" - And, we're back to slashing voter registrations in FL. Local FL election officials are trying to buck what their lovely Governor's doing, but their "honorable" Governator will keep on keeping on defying the DOJ. So, the DOJ & FL are suing each other all over hell west & never.

{I missed a bit of the show to put out a fire on teh Twitter, so please fill in any gaps in comments.}

"It's the Economy, Dummkopf" - Are the MENSA folks pressuring Ben Bernacke to not do TOO MUCH with our economy or the mess over in Europe? Well, if our economy is in the terlet, we depend even more on what goes on in Europe. Jared Bernstein's in studio to talk bailouts. Spain is the next European country begging for a bailout, but it doesn't look like they'll get one. Austerity ain't working all over the world, but the MENSA folk want to do austerity on steroids here.

"Sea/Change" - George Carlin had a GREAT bit about word choice, word clarity, etc. Who would've thunk the MENSA folk in VA are Carlin fans?! ;D Congress critter Rush Holt is on deck to talk "pc" with the world of "global warming" or "climate change" or whatever. The GOBP is using language to cloud clarity instead of to educate - go sparkin' figure! ;D

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
