This is an unapologetic request for contributions large and small for an important international lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender solidarity and bridge-building project.

Gays Without Borders is gathering endorsements and logos of foreign LGBT groups, and on Thursday, June 21 starting at 4 pm at Harvey Milk Plaza, there will be a rally to display the logos and speak about global LGBT solidarity. The rally will be taped and made into a professional video showcasing international cooperation, similar to our fabulous video for our recent IDAHO action here in San Francisco.

We have only nine-days to raise $500 through Kickstarter for our San Francisco Global LGBT Pride Video project, which you can read about here. This is our first effort at crowd-source funding and recognize the limitations of Kickstarter, e.g., all-or-nothing release of funds raised and only accepting donations via Amazon Payments.

We set up a second money pitch at RocketHub, to raise another $500 for this video project. Click here to read that pitch. RocketHub accepts contributions via PayPal and even if you don't reach your goal, still releases whatever funds are raised when you reach your deadline.

Funding is needed to compensate organizers for their time to contact LGBT groups worldwide, professionally print up their logos as large posters, pay the professional crew to record the rally and later edit the tape into a powerful, high-quality video. Our total budget is $1,000 to produce the rally with fabulous signs and create the video.

We are very experienced with staging rallies and kiss-ins at Harvey Milk Plaza, and documenting the events with photos and videos. So far we have secured the endorsements of and logos from these twelve organizations from ten countries, representative of a geographically diverse coalition:

Albania: Pink Embassy
Australia: Rainbow Labor & the Gay & Lesbian Equality of Western Australia
Burma: Human Rights Education Institute of Burma
France: Comite IDAHO France
Greece: Athens Pride
Haiti: Kouraj
Kenya: Identity Kenya & the Gay & Lesbian Coalition of Kenya
Poland: Equality Parade Committee of Warsaw
Thailand: Lesla and the Bangkok Rainbow Organization
United Kingdom: OutRage!

Please make a contribution today, share this note far and wide via Facebook, Twitter, blog and listserves, and if you belong to a LGBT group beyond America's borders, we welcome your endorsement of the video project. Your support of the advocacy and visibility work of Gays Without Borders as we organize the SF Global LGBT Video Pride project is greatly appreciated.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
