With official results from last Tuesday's recall election now in, former Wisconsin state Senator John Lehman has won his job back--clearly defeating Senator Van Wanggaard by 834 votes--a 55 vote increase since election night.
The final total was Lehman with 36,351 votes and Wanggaard with 35,517 votes
Wisconsin's new Senate Majority Mark Miller said in a statement released after the results were made public:
"The votes are all in and it's official - John Lehman has won the election in the 21st Senate District. Now that we have seen that Senator-elect Lehman has added 55 votes to his winning total, I hope Senator Van Wanggaard will concede that this election is over."
Senator Wanggaard has not ruled out asking for a recount, but his chances or taking the lead are slim to none.
