Matt Bors (in a comic I cannot embed here) lambasts the NRA.
NRA offers a policy through Lockton Risk (I call it MURDER Insurance):
(From ThinkProgress)
• Provides coverage up to the limit selected for criminal and civil defense costs.
• Cost of civil suit defense is provided in addition to the limit of liability for bodily injury and property damage.
• Criminal Defense Reimbursement is provided for alleged criminal actions involving self-defense when you are acquitted of such criminal charges or the charges are dropped.
Basic plan is as low as $47/year ($100K liability) and appears to go up. The Application Form (
PDF) shows some of the other options -- I don't understand insurance well enough to know the implications, but this sure seems morally bereft.
But then anyone pushing the law through (and the NRA did) would be lacking in any moral compass, so I guess it makes sense. Now if the NRA could be sued...
No word if they've got a policy for protecting you from Perjury.
