There is a new form of union organizing. A new and exciting third form of organizing. Organizing from the inside-out. It's called The Way. The heart and soul of The Way begins with the recognition of the inherent good of Organized Labor.
January 21, 2010, Citizens United vs. Federal Election Committee drilled the final lag bolt into the coffin of the two existing forms of organizing for modern Organized Labor in America. The fat lady is clearing her throat. She is about to sing the swan song for Organized Labor as we know it. It's over. Unless... Organized Labor plays a new card.
Presently, established unions spend a full 1/3 of their total budgets towards organizing. Organizing in the two existing, traditional modes of organizing; top-down and bottom-up. They don't work anymore. THEY DON'T WORK ANYMORE.
Thirty years ago unions represented TWICE as many workers as today. Presently, unions could throw their ENTIRE budgets into top-down and bottom-up organizing campaigns and the results would be about the same. Organized Labor is shrinking.
Presently, modern man stands at the foothills of a magnificent third industrial revolution. This new revolution of communication and capital, value of individuals, renewable energy and extended empathy for animals is NOW happening.
For the first time in the history, because of science & technology, individuals have the capacity to determine, define, and develop the concepts and contracts of Organized Labor within each of their moments if they should choose to do so. Organizing from the inside-out. That IS the hand we hold. Those are the THREE cards we now have.
This concept is the third form of union organizing designed for the third industrial revolution specifically designed for but not limited to existing union members.
The costs involved in developing this third form of union organizing would consist of programing and hardware involved in related growth. Not a lot of money.
We as union workers have a VERY SMALL window of opportunity. We STILL have some assets now. We need to recognize & support this new and timely opportunity.
This opportunity is called The Way.
