It's hot. Really hot. Mid-August-type hot. Ninety-five in the shade hot. Lots of moisture makes the heat index here top out at 104o...
With apologies to Spinal Tap, our UV index goes up to eleven...
Did I mention it's hot? But hey, you folks in the Northeast know from hot, at least last week. And all y'all (that's the plural of y'all) in Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah know hot too. Hot, like with fires. (Good thoughts for your safety - that is a very frightening situation.)
And then there's Debby - lurking out there in the Gulf, trying to decide where to go...
Keep up with that situation in weatherdude's diaries - best place for info by far.
UPDATE: I guess Debby just decided... weatherdude's new diary...
Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida are under a tropical storm warning, and the forecast models are beginning to come into a bit of agreement.
The Accu-Pike Weather CenterTM has Debby making landfall at Apalachicola on Tuesday around 7AM as a weak Category 1 hurricane.
(Accu-Pike WeatherTM...you'd probably get a more accurate forecast from your dog... ;-)
And according to the calendar, it's just barely summer. Since our summer started in late April (we had no winter to speak of) can we hope for an early fall, or is this the new normal? I know some arid Texans who would be grateful if Debby did a U-turn and really headed toward Dallas...
So what's it like where you are? Are you waiting for a Debby-drenching, or still dealing with the heat? Or flooding, or actual flames?
Anyone got food? Drink? How about some music?

Let your hair down before what promises to be a hell of a week... weatherwise, and otherwise. :::sigh:::
