Here's mine:
The mandate will be tossed. The main opinion will be read by John Roberts. It will be 5-4 with all the conservatives voting similarly, but with Scalia, Alito, and Thomas giving separate opinions because they wanted the entire law thrown out. The four liberal justices will dissent strongly.
And Obama will give a hell of a speech. Let me tell you why I think so after the squiggle, and then let me ask you to give your prediction in the comments in about 50 words or so...
Why do I think this? The conservative justices make up thier mind first and then try to justify their position in legal terms. I truly think the AZ ruling should have been a slam-dunk for conservatives, but it wasn't. I don't think it is because John Roberts suddenly developed a conscience or a deep appreciation for his position... I think it was to help blunt the obvious slam of the health care law that is coming. Two political decisions in a row would be too much... and the less hard-core conservatives would rather destroy this one than help Brewer out.
OKAY... your turn.....
Keep it short. You don't have to say (unless you want) who will give the opinion or other extraneous info., but at least the following:
-Tell me what you think will happen (whole thing tossed, mandate tossed, upheld, other?)
-Tell me the ratio (5-4, 6-3, ?)
I will announce the winner tomorrow in a separate diary.
(PS.. this is one contest I hope I lose... but unfortunately I don't think I will.)
GO kossacks!!
