Books. The weight of them, the smell of them, the feel of the pages in my hand has always been a comfort to me, then I started taking the bus and carrying two to four novels with me to keep me entertained on the extensive travel time on public transportation just didn't work. Then I got my Kindle and I had a whole library in the size of one paperback book...I was in heaven! Then my Kindle got stolen and I am a sad panda once more, back to carrying novels with me when I take the bus to and from work.
I know there is some issue between people that love physical books and those who prefer e-readers, but you know what? I love them both and seriously it is easier for me to deal with the e-reader some days than it is to deal with the weight of a physical book. That, and without my e-reader I would not have been able to get some really fantastic galley copies of books that I am definitely looking forward to seeing in print.
I've recently gotten some awesome books to add to my digital shelves, and they will eventually be reviewed over on my blog, as I work to wade through the backlog of my reviews. For those that are interested, my blog can be found here Confessions of A Bibliophile. I am Caedy Eries, and I read pretty much every available moment that I have during the day. I also read with my roommate's nine year old daughter, and help her with her reading when we read. Books have always been something that has been a constant in my life, and create a world that I can venture into and escape the stresses of every day life for a while.
These are the books that I am currently reading:
1. Tigana by Guy Gavriel Kay (for a book group I am part of on Goodreads.com and seriously trying not to lem on it)
2. The Fathomless Caves by Kate Forsyth - book 6 in the Witches of Eileanan series and one of my favorite.
3. Jaguar Sun by Martha Bourke a Young Adult Paranormal/Urban Fantasy novel about a young girl named Maya who becomes a shapeshifter and learns more about her Mayan heritage.
4. Christmas in Camelot (Magic Tree House #29) by Mary Pope Osborne, am reading this one with my roommate's daughter.
Up next on my TBR list for the month of July:
1. Paradise Lost by John Milton
2. The Moon Dwellers by David Estes
3. Rose Blossoms at Midnight and Other Dark Tales by Matthew Blake
4. Crimson Midnight by Amos Cassidy
5. Underneath by Michael Cargill
6. Francesca of Lost Nation by Lucinda Sue Crosby
7. Call of the Herald by Brian Rathbone
8. Inherited Danger by Brian Rathbone
9. Silver Knight by Caron Rider
10. Fix by Force by Jason Warne
11. Wilde's Army by Krystal Wade
All of those are digital copies and I am currently reading them via Kindle for PC because I've yet to replace my Kindle.
Currently the books that I will be reviewing over the next week are:
1. One Moment by Kristina McBride
2. Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein
3. Honor Bound (The Bastard) by Brenda Novak
4. Scars by Cheryl Rainfield
5. Dark Passage by Griffin Hayes
6. Devil on a Sparrow's Wing by Calista Taylor
7. The Sky Inside You by Marco Moreno Flores
I love getting book recommendations and getting to know Authors better and am working on rekindling my Author Interview series over at Confessions of a Bibliophile, so keep an eye out for that as well!
