I'm sorry. I'm not talking about you, the readers of Daily Kos. You folks know what's going on in the world. You keep informed. You think abstractly. You assess the plusses and minuses of issues. In short, you utilize your brains for something more than getting unreasonably angry.
I'm talking about these people who are incensed over the supreme court ruling on Obama's health care initiative. I'm talking about those on Medicare who are complaining to their doctors that they want the government out of the healthcare. I'm talking about the morons who are on-staff in companies and don't have to pay for healthcare on their own. Those who's premiums will not go up and will likely go down.
Those who fear the whole fucking world because they've never stopped being a child and took the responsibility of acting like an adult.
Those who make an absurd amount of money in the financial industry doing exactly what sent this country into a tailspin and are too self-centered, self-absorbed and callous to pay the few extra dollars they can well afford to help even one fucking person not die.
I'm talking about those who don't respect this country enough to educate themselves on issues like this but somehow think that their own uninformed emotions are just as valid as hard facts.
I'm referring to the angry, the racist, the insecure and the irresponsible who ALWAYS blame everyone and everything else in their lives for things they don't like, can't control, won't involve themselves in or are too tame to make a difference on issues like this - so they champion the ugly approach of "survival of the fittest."
I'm talking about candidates who will take advantage of any opportunity to snatch the spotlight and rail against issues they have no understanding of simply because it will benefit them and get them closer to "the prize."
I'm sick of the most hateful of us, the most ignorant, the most indifferent individuals in our country being given equal billing for calling themselves Christian and doing EXACTLY the opposite of what Christ's teaching's were, in the essence, all about - doing unto others as you would have others do unto you.
I'm tired of those who quietly hate anyone who is an invalid, too old to work, too marginal to have power, and too easily able to fall through the cracks of our society being made the scapegoat while the 1% is continuously held up as a beacon of all that is supposed to be pure and right and worth celebrating in this country. Good for those who've done well, but Bill Gates uses his wealth to help education. Warren Buffett gives alot to charity. What do you do, Paul Ryan?
It doesn't matter whether there is a God or not. It doesn't matter whether all of this will not mean anything in 300 years from now. It is not important that we are really animals and it's a dog eat dog world.
What's important is that we treat others equally while we're here on this planet - right now.
The United States has taxes to keep it going. Don't like taxes? Move to the fucking Canadian wilderness. WE pay our taxes to help oil executives become richer. We pay them to make sure Kellogg Brown and Root rips us off. We pay them to kill others, finance business, allow off-shore accounts to be completely ignored and allow a certain level of brokers pay few if any taxes.
Fuck you if you think it's too much out of your angry lives to let some of the rest of the country not die because they can't afford their healthcare insurance. Shame on you if your need to "win the argument" is more important that to help your fellow man.
Life is short. You're defined by who you are, who you've helped and what you believe. Everything else is, as Kansas says, dust in the wind. Pick your sides and stop complaining. That's all.
