Today, in the House of Representatives, the floor debate on HR 6079 (Repeal of ACA) featured spew and drivel by the Tea Party Terrorists that included "tax hikes" on Small Business and other nefarious meanness on "job Creators". (Excuse me. I'm back now. I had to puke!)
Meanwhile, and simultaneously, the US Senate has proposed a piece of legislation that would offer a DIRECT tax cut to Small Business, while paying that tax cut with new jobs!
The story originated over at, get this, the National journal, in a story written by Stephen Friedman.
Guess what?
Republicans oppose it. Follow me just below the squggledoodlethingey fold, and see the crazy.
In a thought-provoking article over at Crooks and Liars (C&L), Blogger Susie Madrak tell us of a proposed Senate Bill which would confer DIRECT tax cuts on small business owners, giving them a percentage tax cut based upon new payroll.
This breaking story was first brought to the intertoobs by Dan Friedman, writing over at National Journal's "Influence Alley" feature. You know, a REAL journalist.
Such a plan would not only ameliorate any other taxes the small business operator might face, but would encourage them to create jobs. Make sense so far?
Hang on, the "Great Punkin'" is about to happen. Again.
According to Senate Minority Leader "Ditch Mitch" McConnell, this is nothing more than a Democratic political ploy, and the Democrats (You know, the authors of this political stunt, after all) have no intent to allow, permit, or see any amendments to this proposed legislation. That's something that McConnell just won't allow, according to "Ditch Mitch" hisselves.
So, to test the waters, McConnell is DEMANDING an amendment to the proposal, which would extend the Bush Tax Cuts on the wealthy for one year.
Go figger.
Maybe this should be part of the narrative, too. Like, right. freakin'. NOW.
What do YOU think?
