Last week, I mentioned that homeschooling maven Kevin Swanson blamed the gay lifestyle for the 15-year (at least) rampage of Jerry Sandusky. Somehow I thought this was just a fringe view. Boy, was I wrong. Apparently that line of attack has gone mainstream on the religious right, if a piece from OneNewsNow is any indication. OneNewsNow interviewed AFA Pennsylvania president Dianne Gramley and Liberty Counsel vice president Matt Barber, and both said that Sandusky's crimes are proof positive of what happens when you tolerate the gay lifestyle.
"Through all this we cannot ignore the fact that Jerry Sandusky's victims were all young boys. We can't ignore the homosexual aspect of this," Gramley offers. "And through Graham Spanier's tenure as president, he has brought more and more homosexual-oriented programming and events to the campus than ever before."
Adds Barber: "There also is an element of political correctness run amok here," he explains. "Anytime homosexuality is involved -- even though in this case it's a homosexual predator preying on children -- people seem to have this innate fear that they are going to be crushed by the sexual anarchist lobby if they speak out against it." Yet Barber says it is a fact that percentage-wise more sexual crimes are committed against children by homosexuals than by heterosexuals.
Let's say it all together as a group--Sandusky was not gay. He was a pedophile. And if Gramley and Barber bothered to do any research, they'd know that the gay rights movement kicked the pro-pedophilia crowd out of the party a long time ago.
It appears to be an article of faith among Pennsylvania fundies, though, that the Sandusky affair is a gay scandal. The AFA of Pennsylvania's press release heralding the release of the Freeh report is filed under the tag "Homosexual Agenda." Every other statement that outfit has made about this affair is also filed under the "Homosexual Agenda" tag.
