Americas healthcare costs dwarf their defense spending. At 17 pct of GDP it compares to Australia at 9 pct and most Western countries which sit around the 9-10 pct. The outcomes for Americans is not as good on average as for Australians. For the 1 pct things are just great in America.
If America was at 9 pct, Americans would save 1.2 trillion dollars per YEAR.
On June 4 at the MIT Broad Institute in Cambridge Ma, Dr Wah, Chairman of the AMA and several others presented the cost and outcome comparisons and Dr Wah identified at least 1.2 million dollars per year of preventable costs.
