The USA TV network is about to air a six-hour miniseries, Political Animals. It's gonna rip the LID off ... the Clintons! Yaaay! Just what we need to wallow in for the next few weeks.
Now, it's not really the Clintons, it's the Hammond family. The main character is Hillary Elaine (Sigourney Weaver), the former First Lady who is now Secretary of State. Pure coincidence, obviously. She's divorced her greasy sex-fiend slob of a husband and reverted to her maiden name of Rodham Barrish. She has two kids, neither of whom are gifted young ladies working for her husband's foundation, but instead are very different: one loyally serves Mom at Foggy Bottom, while the other thrashes around with his sexuality. Oooh, trendy! Her boss, President Obama Garcetti, is an amoral technowonk who isn't black, but looks suspiciously Middle Eastern if the light hits him just right.
See where this is going? Or could be going? Ugh, I don't wanna go there, either. I can't imagine it's going to be anything but annoying to those of us who don't want to Kardashian up the Clintons and wallow around in a fictionalized morass of decadence, amorality, and slime which you just have to think is targeting Fox News viewers (who will no doubt scream "Ah knew it! Ah knew it all along!" while spilling beer on the dog).
Jeez, USA is trotting out one barely thought-out series after another, none of which is being given a chance to get its wind. Maybe it could have considered getting behind some of those instead of trying to ring Drudge's cherries for a few weeks?
