miles of corn burning on the stalk
animals suffering
people fainting in the street
train tracks buckling and collapsing bridges
highway surfaces buckling
truck treads flying off everywhere
water water not anywhere, and not a drop to drink
heat and humidity so high that it pounds on your chest
FROM THE CHURCH OF INEFFABLE STUPIDITY:
Any sane legislative body would take note, debate the science and the facts, (and the hundreds of rural counties claiming disaster status) and come up with a solution.
The troublesome part of the previous sentence is putting "sane" in the proximity of "legislative body." I promise I won't do it again, not until these insane TeaBuggerers and science deniers are forcibly removed from office.
Actually, there is a response, perhaps two, from this congress.
First, they refuse to even allow a debate on climate change, carbon, and the growing disaster that is our current climate. That is criminal legislative negligence, if only we had such a crime on the books.
Second, they are attacking the military. Yes, you read that right. GOP effing TeaBuggerers are attacking the military.
Perhaps a little history is in order. Even before the election of that socialist, fascist, muslin sporting Kenyan from Hawaii, the Pentagon was doing its job. Part of its job is to use its best resources (brains) and try to predict the largest, baddest, most intractable problems that we would face in the near and not so near future. Looking at the best science, weighing the impact on humanity, and seeing what factors would create the biggest danger to our way of life, the Pentagon realized that Climate Change was Public Enemy #1. Water shortages, heat waves, increased storm frequency and intensity, this would cause such huge stresses on various populations that war and breakdown of society were guaranteed to follow, unless we started dealing with Climate Change now.
So, in 2010, the Pentagon issued a report, admitting that one of the greatest dangers we face is climate change.
The reaction from the TeaBuggerers was predictable as much as it was lamentable. It didn't happen, it won't happen, there is no climate change, and stop doing anything to fix it.
That's right, the GOP TeaBuggerers are actively attacking the military, trying to get them to stop dealing with climate change. Budgets, studies, reports, and green technologies? All under attack by these bible beating bastards who get the sum total of their information from Drudge, Rush, and Sean.
I weep for our future. WE have met the enemy, and it is the TeaBuggerers.
