From the County School Superintendent:
Parents,
It’s time to think about getting your children back to school. I hope that they had a good time this summer, and that they are ready to take on a new school year.
I wish to take this opportunity to tell you of some changes that have occurred in the district. Due to the decrease in property values and the decline in county and state funding not to mention the defeat of the Save Our Schools referendum, the district has had to privatize our school system. Starting this year, the school system will be run by the Christianist American New Testament (CANT) Foundation. Being private, we are being organized as a Charter School district. Among the things you’ll notice:
Your kids won’t be going to Washington School anymore. It has been renamed Christianist Prep. The CANT Foundation has graciously agreed to take over this monstrously expensive building for $1. No longer will the school district be burdened by the excessive costs of electricity and water and staff here. That will be borne by the private citizens who pay extra tuition to send their children there.
As a service to our community, the CANT Foundation has moved a replica of the Little House on the Prairie schoolhouse for a discount fee of $500,000 to a donated site mid-county near the recycling plant. This building is an inspiration to our children because it was in just such a building as this that educated our ancestors in taming the wilderness. Its small size is an asset in savings in energy costs. Its mid-county location will make it convenient for students to walk to it as our transportation costs were too high to maintain our school buses. The CANT Foundation has also agreed to take the buses off the district’s hands for a reasonable fee.
Meet our faculty. Ms. Perkins has a long history of keeping order in the classroom. “Where there’s no order, there’s no learning” is her motto. Being that there’s only one room, there’s only a need for one teacher. That certainly saves the district money on staff costs and avoids the unpleasantness of union issues.
Curriculum. The CANT Foundation has supplied a complete curriculum for our students in learning their history as well as the new trends in society that will make them good citizens. Each student will be issued their textbook, The Bible, which contains the Old and the New Testament. There can be no better preparation for our students in these End Times.
I’m sure you’re as excited as I am in the coming school year. Our children will be in good hands in the CANT system.
