Meet a high school acquaintance of mine:
As you can see, he’s a firm believer in the notion that arming everyone will reduce gun violence. I know, I know, we’ve all heard this trope before, but follow me after the le grande orange for the epic /faceplam.
This was his brother:

An investigation into the Sherry's death revealed when he answered his door at 14606 N 42nd Street, Kuran Shakes and his cousin, Nigel Shakes, entered the apartment and a struggle ensued.
When David Lowe heard the commotion, he came out of his room and saw Sherry on the ground bleeding from his head. Lowe was then hit on the head and knocked to the ground.
Another resident of the apartment, Paul Jenkins, came out of the back bedroom and was shot in the ear at close range. He then ran back to his room and grabbed his gun and started shooting in the direction of Kuran Shakes.
Detectives say one Jenkins' bullets hit Sherry in the chest. The bullet wound Sherry suffered was later determined to be what killed him

How my “friend” can still assert that arming everyone will keep gun violence down, after some half-wit with a Rambo complex shot his brother in a case of friendly fire is beyond me.
I didn’t have the heart to tell him “hey, dumbshit, in all likelihood your brother would still be alive today if his 'upstanding, law-abiding, moral' roommate hadn’t made a REALLY bad decision”.
And that’s the problem with our side. If I was a freeper, I’d have let him have it with both barrels.
If you'll pardon the pun.
