Consolidated Edison's lockout of more than 8,000 New York City utility workers is ending, but that's about all we know. A tentative deal to end the lockout was announced Thursday afternoon by Gov. Andrew Cuomo;
earlier in the day he had pushed to get electrical workers back on the job in advance of predicted storms.
The deal that ends the lockout has to be approved by Utility Workers Union of America members and Con Ed's board, so at this point the only detail that has been divulged is that it involves a four-year agreement.
The utility company had been under substantial political pressure to end the lockout, which it started when the union rejected concessions on pensions and health care.
