New Dan Banner
Every day is a new day and with that, a new opportunity.
EVERYONE is welcome and please join us each morning at 7:30 AM PACIFIC
to tell us what you're working on, share your show & tell, vent, whatever you want...
...this is an open thread. Nothing is off topic.

Tell us your guilty vices and pleasures.

Sunday is the perfect day to confess to us all of your guilty vices and/or pleasures.
Par exemple, les Se7en deadly sins: gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, pride, lust, and envy? Of how many will you confess?

I'll go first.

Filed under gluttony:
I have an addiction to expensive cabernet. I also like pinot noir, malbec, tempranillo, most French, Italian, Spanish and Chilean reds. Not wild about sweet wine like zinfandel or syrahs, although I like inky petite syrahs. That said, I do miss the lovely, peppery Helen Turley zinfandels from decades ago, not sweet at all, light and truly elegant.

I will overindulge in food. French fries, potato chips and fried calamari are at the top of the list. I've been known to eat my weight in tortilla chips and guacamole. I must have rare beef or lamb several times a week to build muscle. Fortunately, desserts do nothing for me. I can easily resist them. Except for E. Guittard's, 91% cacao, extra dark chocolate bar called Nocturne.

Filed under sloth:
I love to sleep in, or lay in my bed with my laptop and surf until it's time to go to sleep again.

Filed under greed:
I like to hog the best bike at my athletic club.

Filed under lust:
Um... iliac crests.

Filed under pride:
Aw come on....... It's hard being a DIVA.

I like to take long showers. I've been accused of using the equivalent of the entire daily use of water on the Navajo reservation in one shower.

I like to go 70-80 in a 55 on steep freeway near my house, weaving in and out of the slow moving cars.

I'm on DKos almost 24/7 365.

I like Barry Manilow.

YOUR TURN: What are your guilty vices and pleasures?

San Francisco Sunday Streets sets pre-determined Sundays throughout the year when major streets are closed to car traffic. Pedestrians and cyclists, plus vendors take over. The local businesses flourish with increased foot traffic.

Here is my last diary about this terrific event:
San Francisco's Sunday Streets: Murals in the Mission [photo heavy]

TIME: 4:00 PM to ? for Part Two

Then, we'll all meet at 20th and Valencia at 4:00 PM. We can walk in a group to Kim's flat.

There are stores along the way you can stop in to grab stuff if you do not wish to bring it ahead of time to Kim's place, including Valencia Whole Foods at 999 Valencia (at 21st St). Or you can walk over to Bi-Rite (18th street between Dolores and Guerrero). There are corner stores all around to grab beer or wine etc.

At 4:15 PM we'll all invade kimoconnor's lovely city garden for a backyard POTLUCK bbq. Food items can be dropped off in advance at Kim's place between 10:30 a.m. and noon before you walk around the Mission.

Tagging tips - Search For Tags - Browse For Tags

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
