The owner of Chick-Fil-A is a homophobic asshole.
Anyway, I don't care about companies' social positions. Google supports gay marriage? That shouldn't make me forget how much they hate privacy! The Amazon founders also like gay marriage? That shouldn't make me forget their horrendously unfair business practices! But a lot of us take this activist-bait hook, line, and sinker! In my opinion, all of big business is basicaly on the same team.
Almost every big corporation wants less regulation and more handouts. Maximum profits, but no government officials snooping around their factories/farms/wherever they do unfair things. All these big corporations were in ALEC until we raged and drew attention to it. You know what? They still support the same things! They're just not in ALEC anymore.
We are being incredibly single-minded about all this. Chick-Fil-A is not exceptionally bad, in my book, when we consider what other big corporations have been up to. I bet that after we get Chick-Fil-A to change we'll buy most of the same things we do now. And we'll never realize just how many ways our money has ended up in a Romney SuperPAC.
If we boycotted every company run by RWNJs, we'd be starving and dead. I encourage everyone to avoid companies with particularly unfair practices. And when it comes time for a boycott, it should be of a company that is especially bad (financing death squads or operating sweatshops or something), not a regional chicken chain run by fundies.
