It was just announced on The New York Times Website that President Bill Clinton will place President Obama's name into nomination during prime-time Tuesday September 5th in Charlotte, North Carolina. I believe this is, as Joe Biden says "a big fucking deal", and am fairly certain that no former President has done this in at least the last century. (Please correct me if I am wrong)
David Axelrod had this to say:
“There isn’t anybody on the planet who has a greater perspective on not just the last four years, but the last two decades, than Bill Clinton. He can really articulate the choice that is before people.”
If only Al Gore had had the sense to ask Bill to do this in 2000, W would have spent the last decade drilling dry holes in Texas....
Thank God the President has the wisdom, and, resultant humility, to allow a very popular ex-President his moment in the sun.
Thank You, President Clinton, for one more service to your nation.
