Yesterday a small grass fire exploded when the trade winds jumped to 30 MPH. Pictured here is the Maui Fire Department helicopter dropping his bucket into a large pool to pick up water.
After picking up one load the pilot noticed the next door neighbor trying to hose down her shake roof. He backed up a few feet and doused the entire roof with one load.
At the end of the day there was no property damage to any of the 900 homes that border the field where the fire burned.
These guys are not paid enough. Give 'em a raise and add ten percent.
