Florida investigators widen absentee ballot-fraud probe in Hialeah

July 31, 2012 - Investigators looking into possible vote fraud in Hialeah, Fla., are now examining at least 31 absentee ballots collected by a suspected ballot broker in two separate instances last week, according to sources familiar with the expanding probe.

Last week, Miami-Dade detectives questioned a Hialeah woman named Daisy Cabrera, who was found in possession of at least a dozen absentee ballots belonging to other voters. Detectives have also learned of another instance in which Cabrera collected ballots from voters, the sources said.

The investigation was triggered by a Miami private investigator, Joe Carrillo, who followed Cabrera last week as she visited several Hialeah apartment buildings and homes and the Hialeah campaign office of Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Gimenez, who is seeking re-election in the Aug. 14 primary. Cabrera has also been photographed with the mayor at his campaign events in recent weeks.  read more>>>

Thought I'd share so as to archive, investigation ongoing.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

As far as I'm concern and especially if the ballots of the real voter were changed by the third party participant helping more then likely more seniors who can't get to the polls on their own.

Find one, even if she is legit, the further one looks, if they allow, the more will surface, and the way this sounds the probe was already going and my guess was to catch someone without connections to tepubs!

Ha! Looks to me like the only thugs participating in election fraud are--as usual--the same people who are guilty of it. Connected lock, stock and barrel to the Tea Party.

God, I'm sick of these thieves and vultures, they're all over Florida and they answer to Tallahassee.  I hope they catch this woman red-handed and she starts singing like a canary.

between the voter or elector and the vote or the ballot. It is important, always, to distinguish between the agent or actor and the thing acted upon.

The vote is supposed to be the act of the elector, but it isn't necessarily so. There's many a slip 'tween the vote and the box, so to speak. Sometimes the voters are aware; most often not, probably in large part because the vote is perceived as worthless both before and after it is cast.  The giver does not want what the taker wants real bad. :)

With the usual suspects arguing for voter ID requirements to forestall "voter fraud," it's unhelpful to start using that term where it doesn't apply.

          She's registering as well!!!!!

It's the same thing, absentee ballots filled out by a third party, needs witnesses with or without said third party, is called 'Voting' in an 'Election', there is no difference as to this investigation, none, as nobody yet knows where it's going and like I said the report reads like the investigator came upon this in an already open probe that expanded with this investigators questions, apparently, as to this woman's actions!!!!!
