Lines practically running around the corner appeared at hundreds of Chick-Fil-A's around the country on something the company Mike Huckabee decided to call "Chick-Fil-A" Appreciation Day - because apparently thousands of people around the nation seem to feel that poor little Chick-Fil-A has had it's Hate Speech Rights trampled on.

Chick-Fil-A Supporter: I really don't feel this is about Gay Rights. It's about economic freedom, and our free market system
Huffpo
Thousands of people gathered at Chicago-area locations of the chain, according to NBC Chicago. At the Orland Park Chick-fil-A, customers waited in line for two hours to send their message of support.
"I like their view on marriage and I believe we should have the freedom to at least express our views on it," Susan Soulian, a customer who drove an hour to wait in line for some chicken told Orland Park Patch. “That’s all they did. You can’t let a business not set up because of a different viewpoint.”
That's not all they did. Having an opinion is one thing. Establishing a Business Policy Based on Discrimination is not just having an opinion - it's acting on that opinion. It's Bigotry and it's also illegal.
Let's just quickly review what revelations began this entire Chick-Fil-A Kerfuffle.
Chick-fil-A has given at least $5 million to anti-gay organizations, including known hate groups and proponents of ex-gay therapy, since 2003, including almost $2 million in both 2009 and 2010.
Chick-fil-A has a 0 rating on the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index, which signifies that the company does not offer one protection, one benefit, or even one diversity training for its LGBT employees.
Chick-fil-A founder Truett Cathy openly admitted that he would probably fire any employee who “has been sinful or done something harmful to their family members.”
It has recently come to light (thanks to Jeremy Hooper) that current Chick-fil-A president Dan Cathy has used the following language to describe supporters of same-sex marriage:
“We are inviting God’s judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at Him and say ‘we know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage.”
“I pray God’s mercy on our generation that has such a prideful, arrogant attitude to think that we have the audacity to define what marriage is about.”
“We see all the twisted up kind of stuff that’s going on. Washington trying to redefine the definition of marriage and all the other kinds of things.”
“We are suffering the consequences of a society and culture who has not acknowledged God or not thanked God—he’s left us to a deprived mind. It’s tragic and we live in a culture of that today.”
So all of these people have "voted with their feet" to support Dan Cathy's Freedom to make statements like those and his claim that Chick-Fil-A is "Family Oriented".
"We are very much supportive of the family," Cathy said. "We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives."
Right. "Traditional" Families like Abraham's where
Isaac's Mother was also his Half-Sister, or King Solomon who had
700 Wives and 300 Concubines.
Righties say that your sexual orientation is a choice. Ok, when did you choose to be straight exactly? Further, when did you choose to be Christian? If that choose of your Religion is the beliefs associated are sacrosant, why shouldn't someone elses "choice" be protect just as well?
And speaking of choice didn't Jesus say some people were "born" like this when he explained that there is no such thing as divorce in the eyes of God?
Matthew 19:9-12
9 And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.
10 His disciples say unto him, If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not good to marry.
11 But he said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given.
12 For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.
Eunuchs so born from their mother's womb? You could say that is a person with no sex drive (exactly who that is, I'm not sure), or you could say it's a man born
not naturally attracted to women. Would that not describe Gay Men? Does that not show that they are what they are because
God Wills it So?
And here's the thing when thousands of people lineup and spend their money to support a company that opposes equal rights for your fellow Americans - and even further uses that money to support the Execution of Gays Abroad - just how do you think gay people, particularly those who work for Chick-Fil-A feel about this?
Not good.
Gay and lesbian employees of Chick-fil-A had perhaps the most disheartening reaction to the day. An Alabama gay staffer named Andrew described the day as “hater appreciation day,” calling it “very, very depressing.” A gay employee at the company’s headquarters in Atlanta heard a customer say, “I’m so glad you don’t support the queers, I can eat in peace.” Another in Colorado had customers telling him, “I support your company, because your company hates the gays.” Many report experiencing homophobia not just from customers, but from fellow employees as well.
You can eat in peace now, y'know - without the
queers and their
queeriness messing up your meal.
Yeah, that's a big steaming heap of economic freedom right there. For you, not the rest of us. Just like the kind they used to have a lunch counters all around the nation. Remember?
I'm just saying, it all seems kinda familiar to me.
