As the profile of the Wisconsin shooter is beginning to fill in, one observation remains clear...this idiot seemingly thought he was targeting muslims. It's bad enough to be a hateful, skinhead loser - which, by the way, every racist skinhead is - but to be so stupid that you can't even tell the difference between the Sikh and the Muslim religion is extra clarification that anyone who follows this ugly cult is angriest about the fact that they have trouble counting to three without help.
Let my define my terms a little bit. A LOSER is not someone who lost their job, or can't cope well in society, or hasn't achieved what they wish they could. That's the profile of an average American - and anyone who "tries" in this difficult life is, in my opinion, a hero.
But honestly. Is there anything more pathetic than the ignorance of those who seem so certain about their hateful beliefs. We see this daily in the likes of Tea partiers, the Westboro Baptist Church, and hard-core conservative republicans. What they do in their daily lives, whether they are wealthy or poor, doesn't really matter in this equation. Their defining characteristic is their hatred and unwillingness to learn better.
The bigger problem here is that this kind of behavior - and the abandoning of facts and logic - is never called out in the media as an abomination and an embarrassment. Imagine if republicans and the hateful were forced to clarify and explain their childish logic, and those who didn't were looked upon with pity. Sean Hannity and Mike Savage's shows would cease to exist.
Unfortunately, that is not what's happened in our country. Stupid people are rallying against the government to "stay out of their medicare", they are commended for their cowardly fears and told it's really showing strength and patriotism, and their so ignorant of their own racism that they can't even understand why they hate our President so much.
There's got to be someone to answer for the hatred that's been spread these last 12 years. It's become institutional. Us against them. The problem is, as the Nazi's understood, it works for the weak minded. God help us.
