Note: I started this diary on March 24 and things have...evolved since then...

Now, I don't subscribe to CTs except for the one about a missing sock with each load of laundry, but that is a diary for another site and time. However, I have been pondering a series of unrelated events and how that might impact a few of my fellow citizens. I occasionally write sci-fi/fantasy short stories so I like to think things forward and this is one of those exercises.

Some people need constant reaffirmation of their world view. Part of their "self" gets maintained by this world view. Now in thinking things forward I wonder how the Limbaugh flap about women being sluts, The fall of the House of Murdock, and the Romney candidacy all relate to each other. I'm going to add in news about Sheldon Adelson to this mix now as well.

First and foremost, Mr. Limbaugh decides to verbally attack a woman over contraception. This led to a boycott of his radio program. So the biggest loud-mouth of the Right-wing media got in hot water and lost advertising dollars and stations. This was happening while Romney was beating the crap out of the remainder of the GOP field. Rush stepped in it all his own, but the tin foil brigade was out defending Rush. Romney starts rolling as this is all happens starting on Super Tuesday.

Billionaire bankroller Adelson has issues. One, possible money laundering problems and two, possible foreign corruption issues. He has spent huge sums of money supporting Newt and now his trying to get Romney elected. Should indictments come down in either charge there will be calls to return the vast sums of money Adelson has contributed.

Now we come to Rupert Murdock, Duke of the GOP and Lord on High of the Right Wing Media Machine. Seems he got in some trouble back in the UK. However, it seems there might be some trouble stateside. Dear Rupert left the helm of part of his empire which was split in two. The master of Fox News is in trouble and there might be some potential monetary fallout even with the split.

And finally we come down the Mittster. From Bain, to taxes, to destroying records, and insulting everyone he is just about the worst candidate ever for president. He isn't liked and he's out of touch.

So what do all these pieces have to do with each other? On the face of it nothing. But to some of our fellow citizens, the ones who think a conspiracy was hatched fifty plus years ago to get an African Muslim elected president of the United States, it is all linked together.

Rush was sabotaged which led Romney to get the nomination over real conservatives. With Rush fighting his own battles, part of the Republican megaphone was weakened. But then factor in that liberals are after Rupert for something his underlings did and that hurts Fox News, the only choice in news for right thinking Americans. Plus Sheldon Adelson, is being hounded for making a buck. If his money is returned then the GOP can't get the word out that the evil democrats are going to take cars, guns, toys, and football!!!

See it is all related. Romney was a democratic sabotage on the GOP against the hated Obama.

Did I leave anything out? Feel free to add in other details or alternate theories.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
