Welcome, friends. The purpose of this regular series is to promote enthusiasm and action among Daily Kos members. Romney will very likely out-fundraise President Obama. However, we believe that we can still win if (1) we can remain competitive financially, and (2) we volunteer our time and energy (GOTV, canvassing, phonebanking, LTE, ...).

Moving Women's Rights Forward
President Barack Obama and Sandra Fluke—August 8th, 2012

While introducing President Barack Obama at the University of Denver,
Sandra Fluke made a compelling case regarding
the clear choice that we face in this election. This is a choice that will affect each and every one of us, as well as our friends, our loved ones, and every woman in America.
And that is why it's so personal for each of us. For me, it's been intensely personal... because when I was publicly attacked for speaking out before members of the Congress, I became more aware than ever that this election will decide whether the rights that generations of women have fought for, will be rolled back. And make no mistake about it, those rights can be rolled back, and in the blink of an eye.
But thankfully, we have a president who has consistently... he has consistently proven that he will defend our rights, especially our right to quality, affordable health care. Because you know, when it comes down to it, the vision behind President Obama's healthcare reforms is really quite simple. It's that our access to basic healthcare should never depend on where we go to school, or where we work, and, especially, never what gender we are.
President Obama's Full Remarks in Denver, Colorado - with Sandra Fluke Introduction
President Obama [...] highlighted how health reform has helped women get access to the care they need.
Thanks to Obamacare:
-Over 868,600 women will now have access to free preventive care. That means things like mammograms, screenings for cervical cancer and pap smears are available to women without any cost-sharing.
-Over 22,100 Colorado women who find themselves in the Medicare doughnut hole coverage gap will have received a discount on their prescription drugs, saving them an average of $577 each.
-On August 1, insurance companies began to cover eight new women's health services -- including contraception, well-woman visits, breastfeeding support, and more.

"President Obama has not compromised on women's rights..."
Continuing their message regarding women's health security, Obama for America has released an ad featuring
Elizabeth Banks, who contrasts Barack Obama's position on women's healthcare issues with Mitt Romney's determination to get rid of Planned Parenthood:
Planned Parenthood is something I care very deeply about. Planned Parenthood was my healthcare provider when I didn't have insurance after graduating from college. [...]
These services that they provide... what is it? 95% of them don't involve anything controversial. So for that little 5% that Mitt Romney decides he doesn't agree with, he's going to take away cancer screenings? What is he doing? He's going to take away people's access to healthcare close by? We're talking about working class ladies who need health care. [...]
President Obama has not compromised on women's rights, and that's why President Obama needs to stay in office.
