Harry Reid recently called Romney the most secretive candidate since Richard Nixon. As such, it seems fitting that Romney would parallel Nixon's secret plan to end the war in Vietnam with a secret plan of his own, this time to solve the nation's budgetary woes and restore prosperity.
We all saw how Nixon's secret turned out - it turned out that he had no effective plan, and the war continued for more than six years after he took office. Also, it appears that an element of his secret plan involved having American personnel bugging out of Saigon in a frantic effort to escape the advancing North Vietnamese Army ...
Perhaps if Nixon's "secret plan" had been vetted this episode of omnishambles might have been avoided.
