Mitt Romney opened up a new volley of attacks today, and it doesn't disappoint:
In an escalation of an increasingly acrimonious campaign, Romney went on national television to say he thinks Obama is "running just to hang onto power, and I think he would do anything in his power" to remain in office. -AP
This coming from a man who's been running for the office of the president for over five years and won't let go of that pipe dream,
against the advice of even his elderly sons.
And in a further display of unmitigated projection and amazing double-speak, Romney goes on to say:
“He's intellectually exhausted, out of ideas, and out of energy. And so his campaign has resorted to diversions and distractions, to demagoguing and defaming others,” Romney said. “It’s an old game in politics; what’s different this year is that the president is taking things to a new low.” -LA Times
I've added emphasis to the six independent statements there that Romney misapplied to Obama rather than to himself. He must be exhausted.
BONUS: Romney, not realizing we all know that enmity and hatred are synonyms, changes his ridiculous "Obama is running a campaign of hate" line to "Obama is running a campaign of enmity". Oooooooh....enmity...sounds so scary, and what a big word! Who knew listening to Romney doubled as quick and easy SAT test prep?
DOUBLE BONUS:
Check this fucknugget out:
Upon entering office in the middle of a fiscal year, he faced an immediate $650 million shortfall and a projected $3 billion deficit for the next year. Unexpected revenue of $1.0–1.3 billion from a previously enacted capital gains tax increase and $500 million in unanticipated federal grants decreased the deficit to $1.2–1.5 billion. Through a combination of spending cuts, increased fees, and removal of corporate tax loopholes, the state ran surpluses of around $600–700 million for the last two full fiscal years Romney was in office. -Wikipedia, on Romney's Governorship
Get. Out. Of. Town. Are you saying that increasing taxes on the capital gains playgrounds of the rich, pumping federal money into a state, and closing corporate tax loopholes...is a time-tested recipe for economic growth!? Wow!!
So next time you hear Romney take credit for Massachusetts's economic increase during his tenure, just remember: he didn't build that.
