Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney are out with their biggest whopper yet. Reporters are dubbing it “The Big Medicare Lie.”
Paul Ryan is looking for any excuse to distract and divide the electorate because his radical budget is a direct assault on retirement security. Ryan wrote legislation to privatize Medicare and Social Security, and break our nation’s promise to our seniors.
With your help, our campaign will continue to stand up to Paul Ryan’s distortions.
Please contribute $12 today, and help me defeat Paul Ryan in my Congressional race against him this November 2012!
For over a year, one of the main contrasts I have shown with my opponent, Paul Ryan, is the approach we take to seniors. Paul Ryan wants to privatize Medicare, one of the most successful and efficient programs.
In March, I delivered tens of thousands of petitions to Paul Ryan about exactly this issue. Ryan’s plan helps health insurance companies, but is a scary thought for seniors!
Paul Ryan’s plan would end guaranteed benefits for seniors. It reopens the donut hole, and it would increase out of pocket costs for the average senior by over $6,300 a year! Here’s the facts Paul Ryan doesn’t want you to read.
The conservative media is pretending that Ryan has credibility as a serious reformer of programs. If we had passed Paul Ryan’s plan, it would have been a disaster for seniors.
Ryan not only wants to destroy Medicare as we know it, but has had his targets set on Social Security for many years. In 2005, Paul Ryan supported legislation in Congress, at George W. Bush’s request, that attempted to privatize Social Security!
If Paul Ryan's plan was passed and Social Security was privatized, and their retirement would have been gambled on Wall Street, and seniors would have been wiped out by the financial collapse!
From day one of my campaign, I promised that I would fight to protect the guarantee of Medicare for our seniors. Paul Ryan's Medicare lie has only renewed my devotion to that promise.
Thank you for your help setting the record straight!
