When Missouri Senate candidate Todd Akin made the idiotic suggestion that "women who are 'legitimately raped' don't get pregnant" today on KTVI's The Jaco Report with Charles Jaco, KFTK radio host and Akin shill Dana Loesch defended Akin's offensive remarks, typical for an anti-choicer.
From the 08.19.2012 edition of KTVI's The Jaco Report:
TPM on Akin's offensive comments:
Rep. Todd Akin, the Republican nominee for Senate in Missouri who is running against Sen. Claire McCaskill, justified his opposition to abortion rights even in case of rape with a claim that victims of "legitimate rape" have unnamed biological defenses that prevent pregnancy.
"First of all, from what I understand from doctors [pregnancy from rape] is really rare," Akin told KTVI-TV in an interview posted Sunday. "a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down."
Akin's non-apology "apology", via TPM:
Rep. Todd Akin (R-MO) said late Sunday that he "misspoke" when he claimed that women who are victims of "legitimate rape" have biological defenses that fend off a pregnancy and therefore do not need legal abortion rights.
"In reviewing my off-the-cuff remarks, it's clear that I misspoke in this interview and it does not reflect the deep empathy I hold for the thousands of women who are raped and abused every year," Akin said in a statement. He promised rape victims "will have no stronger advocate in the Senate to help ensure they have the justice they deserve" if he is elected.
If Akin can't make a SINCERE and REAL apology about his degrading comments, then he should be voted down this November.

Here are some Loesch's most vile tweets in order to defend Akin:
As expected on Big Government, she still defended Akin:
Republican Senate candidate Todd Akin appeared on a local St. Louis television show (below) and discussed his thoughts on abortion, even in the instance of rape or incest, which accounts for less than 1% of abortions received.
Progressive backlash from Roman Polanski fans and deniers of Occupy rapes was immediate.
Democrats want to make social issues the focus on the campaign as opposed to the economy, where they're losing, and Akin's interview gave them them the momentary opportunity they needed to shift attention away from the lagging economy.
Shut up, blowhard! No matter how much she spins it for her BFF Akin, it will not change a damn thing.
