Standard disclaimer: Leave your loathing of meta, World of Warcraft, or community diaries outside. If you think we should be playing your MMO instead, start a guild and write a recruitment diary. Don't leave a comment here and then get all hurtful when it isn't received with flowers and candy. This goes double for people coming in to attack guildies over other diaries or comments - STAY OUT! Link to your recruitment diary is OK though.
Standard advertisement: Wreck List is the Daily Kos World of Warcraft guild. We are Horde-side on the Garrosh server. To join, read this diary and visit the Guild web site to put in an application. Yes, you have to be Horde. No, you don't have to be hardcore - casuals, PvPers, and people that just want to hang out on guild chat are all welcome.
More below the fold:

As you can see, I'm working on changing and modernizing the "look and feel" of the weekly post for Mists of Pandaria.

Blizzard is changing and updating World of Warcraft for Mists of Pandaria as well. And as you may or may not know, a good  number of those changes are hitting the servers next Tuesday with the pre-expansion content patch 5.0.4.

So what's changing now?

The biggie is the class and talent changes from the beta. Say goodbye to your talent trees and hello to the new tier system. You'll get your talent points refunded on login Aug. 28. The new spells will be learned automatically without having to visit a trainer and many of the current talents will be rolled into class abilities. Also, items and enchants will be redone with the relic and ranged weapon slot going away as well. Hunters will be able to equip a ranged weapon in their weapon slot, casters will be able to equip a wand, and DKs and paladins  need to sell their relics before Tuesday.

Those are some biggies. Take a moment. Yeah.

Also, mounts, pets, and  achievements will be account wide, the BattleTag system used in Diablo III which is like RealID without the Real Identity Going Out To Goddamned Everyone will be added, and we'll finally get AoE looting.

The UI and character generation screens are going to have some big changes too. Not that I ever see the base UI - although I will on Tuesday because addons may not yet be updated to the new version. Be sure and check!

I think that covers everything. Wait, there might be some Attack on Theramore world event starting, though I have no idea what the details are, having gotten most of my info from a too-brief scan of WoW Insider. Also, those of you that collect Valor, Justice, Conquest, and Honor should know that Valor and Conquest will be rolled over into Justice and Honor, respectively, and the caps will be removed.

I probably missed a lot of changes - be sure and point out any others in the comments.

Here's Mahuae's Tab Eight Report - looks like the GV is getting ready for Pandaria as well:

Tab 8 Report:

Blackwolf Wand of the Seer, lvl 84
Haldarr Bindings of the Windstorm, lvl 83 leather
Mereldar Ring of the Mercenary, lvl 82
Ravenholdt Gloves of the Monkey, lvl 84 leather
Ravenholdt Shoulders of the Undertow, lvl 84 leather
Tattooed Eyeball, lvl 85 relic
The Perforator, lvl 83 fist (three of these)

That's what I have  this week. For the Horde!

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
