Over the last week, a slew of Wingnutty Republicans and 'conservatives' have come out the woodwork shrieking extreme views.

From expressing their deep seated hatred of women, by blaming them for becoming pregnant after being raped to calling for armed insurrection if the democratic process works, some of the looser cannons on the right have forgotten how dog whistles work.

The trick is, you see, that a dog whistle makes a sound at ultra high frequency. Humans cannot hear it, but dogs can.
Just like in the "Doberman Gang".

Dog-whistle politics are supposed to work like this:

So his whole philosophy is an upside-down philosophy that does not comport with the American experience.
- Mitt rMoney talking about President Obama's philosophy about how society should work in July 2012

See? Governor rMoney called the President a "dirty foreigner" without saying the actual words.

Dog, meet whistle.

One would think after all the swift boating and the Karl Roving that the Republicans have done over the last few decades, that they'd understand how to play dog-whistle politics.

Fortunately some on the right have become so desperate, that they can't play by canine rules.

Meet me on the other side of the cursive "P" with two backs.

Congressperson William Todd Akin  (MO-02) was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2000. He has been in Washington long enough to know how to skirt (but not too short) the subject of a complete abortion ban without saying aloud that he fully supports it. When he and Congressperson Paul Ryan pushed the 'forcible rape' language, they knew not to talk about it.

Now that he's seeking a higher office, one would think that Rep. Akin would try to be less obvious about his evil, anti-women feelings.  Instead of soft pedaling the question about abortion, he made it clear that he thinks if a woman becomes pregnant after being raped, it is her fault.  Congressperson Akin wants everyone to know that he thinks rape victims only become pregnant because they will it to happen. He also made it clear that most women who claim to have been raped are lying about it.

That's just evil, stupid and crazy. It is not dog-whistle.

Hank Williams, Jr. , has been trading on his father's name for his entire life. He is the lowest common denominator in the math problem of life.  This overweight, entitled party boy holds some appeal for some.

“We’ve got a Muslim president who hates farming, hates the military, hates the U.S., and we hate him!”

One would think that someone who has penned over a hundred songs could find a more artful way to say that he hates the President of the United States.  Bocephus seems to be in a tizzy.

Lubbock County Texas, Judge Tom Head is not a judge in the traditional sense. He's more of a judge in the sense that Danny Bonaduce or Simon Cowell is a Judge.  He's an elected official, who oversees the country emergency preparedness. He isn't a judge in the traditional sense of the word. He is also not sane in the traditional sense of the word.

“Civil unrest, civil disobedience, civil war, maybe. And we’re not talking just a few riots here and demonstrations, we’re talking Lexington, Concord, take up arms and get rid of the guy.”

The list goes on:
Congressperson Steve King - IA-05  (Well, I think he can actually hear dog whistles, so it's not fair to blame him for sidestepping dog-whistle politics. That's never been his thing.

Hillsborough County sheriff candidate Frank Szabo wants to murder doctors who perform legal procedures with which he disagrees.

So, the question remains. Why?

Is it that the far right side of the Republican party doesn't trust Mitt rMoney to represent their extreme views?  Even though the party platform has called for a full ban on abortions for any reasons ever?
Even though Governor rMOney went birther today?

It makes one wonder just who is hateful enough to represent these folks, if it's not Mitt rMoney.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
