This will be a short diary. It seems like with respect to abortion and women issues Romney is trying to tack to the center while riling up the base with stupid comments about Obama's base being welfare cheats.  I also think this is meant to appeal to racists who may like Obama but not black people in general (that would be a separate diary). I doubt the villagers will say anything because it seems they are really pushing for Romney. We  must use twitter and of course blogs to combat this because if the media doesn't then that could change the dynamics of the race.   If there are any other suggestions then please provide them.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

Romney's only path to victory, tenuous as it might be, is to go all-in on one strategy or the other.  Doing both can't possibly work because as fragmented as our country is, there's only one MSM, which is where the MS part comes from, for him to get his messages out.  There is no wingnut voter who will ignore the moderate stuff, and there is no moderate voter who will ignore the wingnut stuff especially if it's racist.  The great change in our country vs. the pre-CRM era, for Whites at least, is that white moderates are no longer enthusiastic about being identified with racism.

doing this. I personally think that it  is rather late for him to tack to the center. But then it could be a sign of desperation  because he seems all over the place.
