In tone, in content, in diversity, in inclusion, in size, in specificity-the differences between the two parties cannot be overstated if you just watch these two conventions
Of course you can expect the message to be different but if you just watch and listen with your "gut" you will FEEL it. I want you to feel the difference. I get sick of arguing mostly with third party people and paulbots, that 'there is no difference" ("everybody is a corporate whore"...) Fundamentally, at the cellular level we are different. You can argue until you want to chew up your eyeballs, stating research data, facts, websites, nonpartisan sources, NONE of that gets to the meat of the difference. Feel the convention. Democrats are excited, they are positive, and they show emotion-they are real, not contrived. Their struggles are not about the need to sell off some stock or the hardship of having to spend a Sunday with their kids in bed. They literally ate the government cheese, not a can of tuna fish, and in most cases, survived to pay into the system because the government was there in times of crisis to help out. When you talk about hardship the right sounds like they are relating a folktale they once heard. Democrats have lived it. In short, Democrats are human-they are tall, short, black, white, big, small, old, young, southern, northern, eastern, western, male, female....The RNC is white, and more often than not, fat. They are angry because someone gave them health insurance. They are not angry because someone sent them to war over fake WMD's. They are angry that they pay (nearly the lowest tax rate in the civilized world)taxes yet they are the first to use the services. (they like to call the police alot) They rant about the debt, yet paid ZERO attention to it while Bush was racking it up. They rant about smaller government but want a place in women's most intimate spaces, and would put in place reproductive slavery, which has nothing to do with "life" and everything to do with control- As a therapist I see the whole republican agenda about control, controlling everyone else who isn't part of the 1%. Watch and feel this convention and then take Duval Patick's advice and "GROW a SPINE" and GOTV, support your President.
