Ravenswood, WV - A benefit concert and rally for United Steelworkers (USW) Local 5668 who work at Constellium Rolled Products Ravenswood, WV will be held September 8.

Seven Hundred members were forced to go on Strike on August 5 because of the company’s unwillingness to negotiate in good faith to reach an agreement on such issues as healthcare coverage, pension and wages. The local has filed an unfair labor practice with the National Labor Relation Board (NLRB.)

The Concert and Rally will kick off at 12:00 noon and there will be several local bands and noted speakers on hand to perform and speak throughout the day.  The Concert and Rally will be held on the grounds of USW Local 5668 Union Hall.

In addition to the Concert and Rally we are doing a non-perishable food drive.  All financial and food donations will go to the relief of the striking Union Members of, USW Local 5668.  Your support is greatly appreciated; we thank you in advance for your show of support for the striking members and their families.

With your financial support, donations, help, and moral support, we can win this Unfair Labor Practice Strike.  Together we shall let the Company know we are strong and we are determined to achieve a fair contract.

In Solidarity
USW Local 5668

Donations can be made to: Local 5668 Strike & Defense Fund at Local 5668, 52 NU Chance Drive, Ravenswood, WV 26164

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
