Image Hosted by Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (and/or her social media team) made sure I knew that she'll be on TDS tonight. Stephen's got Michael Grunwald, whose lists I'm not on, re: his book The New New Deal: The Hidden Story of Change in the Obama Era.
sausage grinder of snark

Hurricane remnant that came through last night(-ish) didn't leave me much rain, but it did give me a nasty migraine. So I've got an excuse tonight to send you over to ColbertNewsHub's karenatasha(again) if you want more guest info.
So here's this:

Interesting thing about twitter, at least my daily perusal of mentions of @TheDailyShow. I wasn't surprised to see a lot of "I love Jon", "I'm watching Jon with a gazillion others at getglue" and "hey Jon and/or tonight's guest, please read my tweet about my brilliant idea/comedy/small business plan". Not even that there are people who'll tweet screensfull of comments/conversation/ALL CAPS SOMETHING-OR-OTHER at Jon and/or tonight's guest. But every day I've checked, there's one person who'll post such tweets. Just one per day, a different one every day, and invariably those tweets will reveal (sometimes more slowly than others) that this person is bugfuck insane. No wonder Jon despises twitter, if this is what he sees of it.

Typical stuff today. But first, possibly my favorite twitter exchange ever:

And here's the entire thing, all nice & blog-posted & all:

And now for the somewhat less inspiring @TheDailyShow tweets:

(everyone pay attention as to whether you're in a key market or not.)

And tonight's cartoon-background art is from a picture I found in a couple places online -- looks like the original art is by a guy who goes by Metaphorchid on Etsy, and DominantPrimate or maybe that's "O") at Cafepress. Great stuff. I'm debating which $20 litho to buy --or possibly a tshirt. Maybe an apron...

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
