According to Public Policy Polling President Obama is up by 7 points in Michigan ... and ... AND ... 52% of likely voters in MI "think Romney should release 12 years of his Tax Returns."
ut -oh for Mitt! All that hiding behind Ann and all that complaining that calls for Romney to release his Tax Returns are not what the voters is crap.
Highlights of the data from PPP is why Romney pulled his campaign out of Michigan:
53% of voters think Obama has been better for the automotive industry in the state compared to only 31% for Romney.
80% of voters say the candidates' record on the automotive industry is important to them, and 48% deem it to be 'very important.
54% Independents favor Obama to only 38% for Romney.
This is the worst though:
The Republican Convention doesn't seem to have done Romney a lot of good in Michigan.
30% of voters say it made them more likely to support the GOP this year while 35% say it actually made them less likely to do so, 35% say it did not matter.
Michigan voters do not see Romney as one of their own:
34% consider Romney to be a Michigander to 57% who do not.
45% have a favorable opinion of him to 49% with an unfavorable one.
On Romney releasing his complete, filed Tax Returns
52% of voters think Romney should release 12 years of his tax returns to 42% who think he should not.
Among independents the breakdown is
59/36.
Here's the clincher:
We find that 34% of likely voters on this poll are Republicans compared to 33% who are Democrats.
Not only was the Democratic National Convention a complete, thorough, exciting outline of President Obama's policies, it was also a reminder of the fact that President Obama inherited the Second Great Depression.
Add that to the fact that Romney is secretive, a pathological liar and most importantly Democrats are starting to get rev'd up -- so don't stop!
