Some of you may know that that I had a plumbing disaster last month, which left me with water damage and no sink in the hall bath. After a week of not reaching the insurance adjuster (I had spokent to the agent) I called a restoration company. They tore out most of my hall carpet, removed sodden baseboard, and left a couple of dehumidifiers for a few days.
Then, when an adjuster finally came, he told me the damage was mostly the result of ongoing problems that I haven't had the money to take care of, and that the insurance company would not pay.
Now I have a bill from the restoration company. The actual cost is $1500, but because I was referred by the insurance agent, $500 they will accept $500 as payment in full.
I am also looking into getting assistance with the repairs, and there may be some people from my synagogue who will be able to help with that. But I do need to raise the $500 as soon as possible, and that is what I am asking help with.
This community has helped me in the past, and I have faith that you will help me again. If you can help, my PayPal account is rmaraport at yahoo dot com. I do help others here when I can - my $2 or $3 donations do help, and such have helped me in the past as well.
Thanks to this community for being there.
