In honor of September 11, the presidential candidates have taken the day off from campaigning. However, the National Republican Campaign Committee has not. I work for one of those fabled "small businesses" and this morning my boss received this fax from Congressman Pete Sessions (R-asshole). It asks him to sign an open letter containing the “you didn’t build that” misquote by President Obama.
I offered to call and have our fax number taken off their list, but my boss told me to go ahead and let them waste their money. (Yeah, I like my job!) I'm not sure how this is supposed to swing undecided voters. It's barely even coherent.
(And aside from the general dickishness of the fax and the fact that it was sent out today—shouldn’t “over regulation” be “over-regulation”?)
As a business owner, I'd like to include your name in our open letter to President Obama in response to his lack of understanding of how jobs are created.
Please review the attached and call my assistant at 1-855-402-0739. Thanks.
OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT OBAMAAccording to the Wiki, Pete Sessions spent most of his pre-congressional career working for Southwestern Bell for 16 years. He was eventually a district manager, in charge of a budget and employees ... but oddly, I don't see anything about the small business he started, or that he ever missed a paycheck so that his employees didn't. Go figure.

Dear Mr. President,
In a speech yon July 13, 2012 you said:
"If you've got a business -- you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen."
Have you ever started a business? Have you ever personally met payroll? Have you ever gone without so you could pay employees? Have you ever managed cash flow? Have you ever had to comply with government over regulation ?
Therefore, we the undersigned Business leaders, along with the Republican Leadership, are proposing an alternative solution. Make the current tax cuts permanent for EVERYONE!
Economic revival will begin where it always does-- with entrepreneurs and America's small businesses.
JOHN Q. SAMPLE
